The Woodburn Christian Children’s Home accepts placements from, but not limited to, the tri-state area (IN/MI/OH). WCCH has been specifically approved to provide residential child care for young people (male and female, ages 6-21). Children accepted for placement must be willing participants who demonstrate their ability to function and thrive in a (least-restrictive) normal Christian family environment. We do not contract with DCS. All placements are private placements.
WCCH takes great care in accepting a child into our homes. The process typically requires more than one interview, which may take place over an extended period of time. During each interview, families are encouraged, assessments are made and counsel is given. The program is fully explained and the child is told that he/she must be a willing participant and commit to our program in order to be considered for acceptance. When it is evident that a particular child requires a more restrictive environment, our staff provides referrals. WCCH does not accept children with sexually maladaptive behaviors, children who exhibit aggressive or violent behaviors, children who are actively suicidal or homicidal, children with an IQ below 70 or children with any other behavior or condition that would prevent their successful integration into the WCCH family. |
